1 in 5 students are missing classes and 35% are skipping meals because of the cost of travel to their place of study.
That’s according to a new survey of more than 3,500 UK students by the National Union of Students (NUS).
It’s clear that rising rail and bus fares have become increasingly prohibitive to students accessing their education.
That’s why NUS is calling on the government, local councils and institutions to act to make public transport more accessible to students.
And that starts by making public transport FREE FOR STUDENTS! You can support this goal by signing the petition - 10,000 people have already done so!
