The light therapy desk lamps are available in the library. These are to ensure you are getting the bright light your body needs during winter, even on the greyest of days. The lamps can give you a real boost, making you feel more alert, more positive and less interested in hibernating under the duvet. These can also improve cognitive performance, which is particularly important during the assessment period.
Regular use can help to alleviate symptoms of ‘winter blues’ and Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) which include sleep problems, cravings, depression, anxiety, lethargy and some physical symptoms such as joint pain and lower resistance to infection.
