The first lunchtime concert of the academic year is traditionally a staff concert.
This year we have Karin de Fleyt (flute), Rachael Buxton (Piano), Jakob Fichert (Piano), and Damien Harron (Percussion) performing a range of music that includes Ferrucio Busoni’s ethereal Elegy no. 3, a Choral Prelude on “Meine Seele bangt und hofft zu Dir” – “My soul trembles and hopes of Thee”, and Francis Poulenc’s wonderfully evocative Flute Sonata. Other works performed in the concert will include Roger Marsh’s Walking Away, and Iannis Xenakis Rebonds Part B.
